Two ballet dancers, Orphelie LONGUET & HEATHCLIFF BONNET , performed the pas de deux from Romeo and Juliet Opus 64, by Sergei Prokofiev ballet in three acts about50 minutes each , made in the spring and summer of 1935 , shortly after the composer’s return to the Soviet Union , based on the eponymous play by William Shakespeare.
This is one of his most popular works due to the high melodic inspiration from the great rhythmic variety and memorable character of the main themes : the famous and sinister “Dance of the Knights ” and its various variations on the theme of Juliet.
